Katy Perry as Smurfette

Katy Perry is set to exercise her acting skills with a role in the big screen adaptation of classic kids' show The Smurfs.Perry will lend her voice to the new film, which will be a mixture of live action and animation, as Smurfette, the only female Smurf among the group.Scooby-Doo filmmaker Raja Gosnell will direct the picture and filming is slated to begin in April.
